Philosophers and performing arts

Art communicates a moral purpose and education. Dewey believes that moral purpose is justified, as art, and the performing arts, convey messages that stimulate thinking about a meaningful life. Dewey is a pragmatist whose appeal to art and performing arts assumes it is a means to an end because he conceives the end as just and equitable: democracy. (Goldblatt, Patricia (2006)).
